The Community Park District will be hosting our first combination Checkers and Chess tournament this spring for all amateur players! All ages!
Tournament will be played at the Community Park District Recreation Center and will not be ranked. All checkers games will adhere to Hasbro – Intro to Checkers rules. All chess games will adhere to FIDE Laws of Chess. Players will be paired up for games and will compete in multiple rounds of play in order to determine who takes home the championship trophies (1st and 2nd place). All materials will be provided.
*Checkers games will be limited to 30 minutes, whoever has the most pieces at the end of that time will be the winner. Turns will not be timed.
*Chess games will be limited to 60 minutes, whoever has the most points left on the board will be the winner. Turns will not be timed. Tournaments will encompass all ages, unless enrollment allows us to break up into separate adult/ youth brackets
