Memorial Park Multi-Sport Courts
The 2021 Illinois Association of Park District Overall Outstanding Park and Facility of the Year

The Community Park District officially opened the newly renovated Multi-Sport Courts on October 9, 2021. The project was made possible by a generous sponsorship from Strive La Grange Park, a $25,000 TIF Grant from the Village of La Grange Park, and the support of countless residents and businesses.

Located off Oak Avenue, adjacent to the La Grange Park Library, this unique space offers fun and social outdoor activity for all ages.

Need equipment? The La Grange Park Library of Things offers free rental of pickleball, fitness, and a wide range of other equipment you can use for a fun day at the park! All you need is a valid Illinois Library Card.

Hours of Operation:
The Memorial Park Multi-Sport Courts are open from dawn to 10pm. During the winter months, nets are removed from the tennis and pickleball courts.

Court Features

Pickleball Courts
La Grange Park is now home to three new lighted pickleball courts! In addition to expanded recreational opportunities, the park district now provides a wide range of pickleball leagues and classes.

Pickleball Specific Rules: Please limit play to one game to 11 when others are waiting. Players are not allowed to hold courts while others are waiting. All other posted rules apply.

Fitness Court
Residents now have access to
nation's most innovative outdoor gym. Designed by the National Fitness campaign to provide a seven-movement, seven-minute system, the equipment allows you to use your own body weight to get the perfect workout. Search "Fitness Court" in your app store to download a free app or use the code located onsite.

This facility was made possible by our innovative partnership with Strive La Grange Park. We look forward to continuing to work together to provide challenging fitness opportunities and programs to help you live your best life!

Family Playground Games

Gaga ball, tetherball, a mini race track and fitness walk are all located adjacent to the fitness court. This provides parents an opportunity to get great workout while kids have fun enjoying the physical games and activities they love nearby!

Did you know? Sensory paths like the fitness walk at the Multi Sport Courts let children hop, skip, walk, or slide through the patterns and have been suggested to help kids release stress and cope with different emotions. Bright colors were integrated into acrylic sports surface throughout the park and  the wide range of colors and design of the kids’ fitness walk were deliberately chosen to improve the inclusivity.

Tennis Courts
Two beautifully renovated tennis courts are located in the Multi-Sport Courts. Players of all ages will enjoy recreational play and access to a wide range of classes and activities.

We are excited to announce that we are offering a new adult rec tennis league in 2022 and we hope you will join us!

Improved Green Infrastructure
213 native plants replaced the existing monoculture shrub line leading downhill to the rain garden on Oak Avenue. This design improves sight-line issues through the park and  will also help to naturally mitigate stormwater runoff to improve groundwater quality. Our architects also decreased the impermeable surfaces and reduced the heat-island of the courts by including planting areas within the family fitness portion of the facilities. The planters are home to 5 new deciduous trees that will grow to provide natural shade for users for years to come!
